PYRAMAZE To Support VOLBEAT In Denmark

July 10, 2008

Danish metallers PYRAMAZE — whose current recording lineup includes ICED EARTH singer Matt Barlow — will support fellow Danes VOLBEAT on five shows in Denmark in November.

Commented PYRAMAZE guitarist Michael Kammeyer: "We are very pleased that we have been invited on to the VOLBEAT tour. They are currently the biggest and best selling heavy metal band in Denmark, and we are proud that we have been invited personally by the band to be their special guest".

VOLBEAT frontman Michael Poulsen stated: "I was knocked over when i heard PYRAMAZE's new album, which contains one of my favourite metal singers, Matt Barlow. In fact, I dare to claim that this is Denmark's best metal release since MERCYFUL FATE. Great melodies and a singer who can easily be placed on the heavy metal throne and wait for his crown. This band has absolutely earned respect and attention. It's cool to be able to bring some 'old rats' who have been a part of the metal scene for a long time. Unfortunately, Matt is no longer in PYRAMAZE, but the music stands strong enough on its own and a new singer is currently being auditioned."

PYRAMAZE supporting VOLBEAT:

Nov. 05 - Copenhagen, Denmark @ Store Vega
Nov. 06 - Roskilde, Denmark @ Gimle
Nov. 07 - Århus, Denmark @ Train
Nov. 08 - Esbjerg, Denmark @ Tobakken

PYRAMAZE's "Immortal" album was released in the U.S. on June 24 via Locomotive Records.

"Immortal"'s vocal sessions were helmed by producer Jim Morris, who has worked with ICED EARTH on the group's last few releases. The CD was mixed by Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, INVOCATOR, MERCENARY).

Barlow originally joined PYRAMAZE as the replacement for Lance King who left the band in November 2006.
